(Total) Vector Domination for Graphs with Bounded Branchwidth

چکیده
Given a graph G = (V, E) of order n and an n-dimensional non-negative vector d = (d(1), d(2), . . . , d(n)), called demand vector, the vector domination (resp., total vector domination) is the problem of finding a minimum S ⊆ V such that every vertex v in V \S (resp., in V ) has at least d(v) neighbors in S. The (total) vector domination is a generalization of many dominating set type problems, e.g., the dominating set problem, the k-tuple dominating set problem (this k is different from the solution size), and so on, and its approximability and inapproximability have been studied under this general framework. In this paper, we show that a (total) vector domination of graphs with bounded branchwidth can be solved in polynomial time. This implies that the problem is polynomially solvable also for graphs with bounded treewidth. Consequently, the (total) vector domination problem for a planar graph is subexponential fixed-parameter tractable with respect to k, where k is the size of

Complexity and approximation ratio of semitotal domination in graphs
A set $S subseteq V(G)$ is a semitotal dominating set of a graph $G$ if it is a dominating set of $G$ andevery vertex in $S$ is within distance 2 of another vertex of $S$. Thesemitotal domination number $gamma_{t2}(G)$ is the minimumcardinality of a semitotal dominating set of $G$.We show that the semitotal domination problem isAPX-complete for bounded-degree graphs, and the semitotal dominatio...
متن کاملMore results on total domination in direct products of graphs
Upper and lower bounds on the total domination number of the direct product of graphs are given. The bounds involve the {2}-total domination number and the total 2-tuple domination number of the factors. Using these relationships some exact total domination numbers are obtained. An infinite family of graphs is constructed showing that the bounds are best possible. The domination number of direc...

A {em Roman dominating function} on a graph $G$ is a function $f:V(G)rightarrow {0,1,2}$ satisfying the condition that every vertex $u$ for which $f(u)=0$ is adjacent to at least one vertex $v$ for which $f(v)=2$. A {em total Roman dominating function} is a Roman dominating function with the additional property that the subgraph of $G$ induced by the set of all vertices of positive weight has n...
متن کاملTotal domination in $K_r$-covered graphs
The inflation $G_{I}$ of a graph $G$ with $n(G)$ vertices and $m(G)$ edges is obtained from $G$ by replacing every vertex of degree $d$ of $G$ by a clique, which is isomorph to the complete graph $K_{d}$, and each edge $(x_{i},x_{j})$ of $G$ is replaced by an edge $(u,v)$ in such a way that $uin X_{i}$, $vin X_{j}$, and two different edges of $G$ are replaced by non-adjacent edges of $G_{I}$. Let k ≥ 1 be an integer, and let G be a finite and simple graph with vertex set V (G). A signed total Italian k-dominating function (STIkDF) on a graph G is a functionf : V (G) → {−1, 1, 2} satisfying the conditions that $sum_{xin N(v)}f(x)ge k$ for each vertex v ∈ V (G), where N(v) is the neighborhood of $v$, and each vertex u with f(u)=-1 is adjacent to a vertex v with f(v)=2 or to two vertic...
